Therapy in Sugar Land and Across Texas
Individual, couples, family and group therapy for children, teens and adults, in person at our lakeside office or by telehealth anywhere in Texas.
What therapy here looks like
Most people start with one session a week. Sessions last about 53 to 60 minutes, and you can meet in person in Sugar Land or by video from anywhere in Texas. Appointments are available seven days a week, including evenings and weekends.
Your first session is mostly listening: what brought you in, what you have tried, what you want to be different. By the end of the first few sessions you and your therapist should agree on goals and a plan, and you should know how you will tell whether it is working.

Therapy questions
How long will I be in therapy?
It depends on what you are working on. Some people come for a few months for one specific problem; others stay longer. We would rather you come for the right number of sessions than for one, which is rarely enough to change anything.
Can I use insurance?
Most of our therapists accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare and Optum, and several take Oscar and UMR. Dr. Renata Nero accepts Medicare. Each profile lists exactly which plans are accepted.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Several clinicians offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. Their profiles say so, or call us and ask.
Can my therapist talk to my psychiatrist or prescriber?
Yes, with your written permission. If your medication provider is here, coordinating is simple.
