Counseling for Pregnancy, Postpartum and New Parents
Support for anxiety, low mood, birth experiences and the identity shift of becoming a parent, from pregnancy through the first year.
More common than people say
Many new parents feel anxious, low, irritable or overwhelmed in pregnancy and after birth. Some have frightening intrusive thoughts and are too ashamed to mention them. These experiences are common and treatable, and they do not mean you are a bad parent.
We help with
- Anxiety and worry during pregnancy
- Postpartum depression and anxiety
- Intrusive thoughts after birth
- Difficult or traumatic birth experiences
- Infertility and pregnancy loss
- Relationship strain after a baby
- Returning to work and identity changes

Questions
Can I take medication while breastfeeding?
That is a question for a prescriber. Our medication providers can talk through options with you and your OB.
Is this only for mothers?
No. Partners and adoptive parents are welcome.
Your first session
Your clinician will ask about pregnancy and birth, sleep, feeding, support at home, mood and any frightening thoughts, without judgment. You are welcome to bring your baby to telehealth sessions.
When to reach out
Reach out if low mood or anxiety lasts more than two weeks, if you cannot sleep even when the baby sleeps, or if intrusive thoughts frighten you. If you have thoughts of harming yourself or your baby, call or text 988 or call 911 now.
