About Diana

Diana Cantu is a bilingual Licensed Psychological Associate who provides psychotherapy in English and Spanish. She earned her master's degree in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy from the Instituto de Salud Mental de Nuevo León in Mexico, and completed a fellowship in Adult Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Center for Psychoanalytical Studies in Houston.

She provides psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties and other emotional challenges. Her approach integrates psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based interventions to help clients develop insight, emotional resilience and practical strategies.

Diana's background includes years of psychological evaluation work in clinical and juvenile probation settings. At Sugar Land Counseling Center her focus today is therapy, and that assessment experience shapes how carefully she listens to the whole picture of a child, teen or adult.

She also offers consulting sessions for parents who are new to an autism diagnosis, with guidance, education and support as families learn their child's needs and the resources available. As the mother of a teenage son with autism, she brings both professional training and personal understanding to this work.

Outside of her clinical practice, Diana enjoys reading, painting, and spending time with her children and her Dalmatian. She hosts Cantu Psicoterapia Radio, a Spanish-language podcast about mental health.
