LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy
You deserve a therapist who meets you as you are and does not need you to educate them first. Our team sees LGBTQ+ adults, teens and families.
Therapy where you do not have to explain yourself
LGBTQ+ people come to therapy for the same reasons anyone does: anxiety, depression, relationships, grief, work. Too often they also spend sessions managing a therapist's assumptions. Our practice counts LGBTQ+ clients among the people we see, and we expect every clinician to start from respect.
What clients often work on
- Anxiety, depression and stress
- Coming out, or deciding whether and how to
- Family relationships that feel strained
- Relationship and couples concerns
- Self-esteem and the effects of rejection
- Faith and identity, if that matters to you
Your identity is not the problem
Your sexual orientation or gender identity is part of who you are, not something to be fixed. Therapy focuses on what you want help with. If stress from discrimination or family conflict is part of the picture, that is something your therapist can work on with you.

For parents of LGBTQ+ teens
When a teen comes out, parents often have questions and strong feelings of their own. Family sessions can help everyone talk honestly and stay connected, with the teen's well-being at the center.
Couples and families
Same-sex couples are welcome in couples counseling, and families of every shape are welcome in family therapy. Sessions focus on the goals you bring, whether that is communication, conflict, parenting together or rebuilding closeness.
Choosing your therapist
Every clinician here is expected to start from respect. If you want a therapist with particular experience with LGBTQ+ clients, call or text 832-876-3232 and we will tell you which of our clinicians offer this right now, and help you choose.
Questions
Can I use my chosen name and pronouns?
Yes. Tell us at intake or at your first session.
Is telehealth an option?
Yes, anywhere in Texas, with all of our therapists.
What if a session feels wrong?
Please say so. You can switch clinicians at any time.
Is what I share kept private?
Yes, within the legal limits your clinician explains at the first session. For teens, the therapist explains up front what stays between them and what must be shared with parents, such as safety concerns.
