Autism Evaluations in the Houston Area
Autism evaluations for children, teens and adults, with a feedback session that explains what the results mean for school, work and home.
When families call us
Sometimes a pediatrician mentions autism at a checkup. Sometimes a preschool teacher notices a child playing alone or melting down at transitions. Sometimes an adult reads about autism and recognizes themselves for the first time.
Whatever started the question, an evaluation gives you a clear answer and a plan.

After the evaluation
A diagnosis is a beginning, not a verdict. Our therapists work with children with autism on big emotions, social skills and life skills, and with parents who are learning what their child needs.
Diana Cantu also offers consulting sessions in English or Spanish for parents who are new to an autism diagnosis.

Autism looks different in every person
Some autistic children talk early and endlessly about one subject; others speak late or not at all. Some adults have spent decades masking what feels different, which can be exhausting. An evaluation looks at the whole person, including strengths, rather than a checklist.
We also look carefully at conditions that can look like autism or come with it, such as ADHD, anxiety, language delays and learning differences, so the recommendations fit.
For parents waiting on an answer
Waiting is hard. While you wait, write down what you notice at home and at school, keep any reports from teachers or speech therapists, and bring a few short videos of your child at play if you have them. Those details help your evaluator see what you see.
