Hypnosis for Sleep and Relaxation
Hypnosis can teach adults ways to quiet a busy mind and relax the body at bedtime, as a complement to good sleep habits and medical care.
When the mind will not switch off
Many people lie awake replaying the day or worrying about tomorrow, or wake at 3 am and cannot get back to sleep. Over time, bed itself can start to feel like a place of tension.
Hypnosis focuses on relaxation and attention. Sessions teach you to let the body settle and to redirect the thoughts that keep you alert, with techniques you can use at home.
What sessions can focus on
- Relaxing the body before bed
- Letting go of racing thoughts
- Calming the stress response
- Getting back to sleep after waking
- Building a short wind-down routine
- Relaxation during stressful periods such as medical treatment

Check with your doctor first
Ongoing sleep problems can have medical causes, such as sleep apnea, pain, thyroid problems or medication side effects. Talk with your physician about your sleep before starting hypnosis, and keep them informed. Hypnosis is a complement to that care, not a substitute.

Questions
Will I fall asleep during the session?
Some people feel very relaxed, but the goal in the office is to learn a technique you can use on your own.
Can I keep taking my sleep medication?
Do not change any medication without talking to the doctor who prescribed it.
What if worry or low mood is behind the sleep problem?
Therapy may help too. Our therapists treat anxiety and depression, and we can help you choose someone.
Simple habits that support the work
Hypnosis tends to work best alongside steady routines: a consistent wake time, a dim and cool bedroom, less screen time in the last hour before bed and a short wind-down that signals the day is over. These are small changes, and together with relaxation practice they give your body a clearer cue that it is time to rest.
