Psychological Testing
Evaluations for School and Exam Accommodations
Documentation for students and adults who may need extra time or other changes on school, college, entrance or licensing exams.
Who requests this kind of evaluation
High school students preparing for entrance exams, college and graduate students, and adults facing licensing or certification exams sometimes need current documentation of a learning difference, ADHD or another condition. Many testing organizations ask for recent testing by a qualified evaluator and a clear explanation of how the condition affects performance.
We evaluate the question honestly. The report says what the testing shows, whether or not it supports a request.
Common reasons for a request
- ADHD
- Dyslexia and other reading or writing differences
- Slow processing speed
- Anxiety that affects timed testing
- Autism
- Changes in thinking after a concussion or brain injury
How the process works
- 1.
Know the requirements
Get the documentation guidelines from your school or testing organization and bring them to us.
- 2.
Interview and history
We review your school history, past evaluations and any accommodations you have had.
- 3.
Testing
Cognitive, academic and attention measures chosen to answer the question.
- 4.
Report
A written report that describes the findings and makes recommendations.

A realistic note
Every school and testing organization makes its own decision about accommodations. A thorough, current report helps your request be understood, but no evaluator can promise an outcome. Starting early leaves time for review and appeals, which can take months.

Questions
How recent does testing need to be?
It depends on the organization. Many want testing from the last few years. Check your guidelines and bring them to your first appointment.
I was tested as a child. Do I need to test again?
Often yes, because many organizations want current scores. Bring your old reports; they help show the history.
Is this covered by insurance?
No. Testing here is private pay.
Timing your evaluation
Organizations that review accommodation requests often need weeks or months to respond, and some ask for additional information. If you have an exam date in mind, count backward and leave room for the evaluation, the written report and the organization's review. Bring your exam date and the documentation guidelines to your first appointment so testing can be planned around them.
