Psychological Testing

Autism Testing for Katy Families

Katy and Cinco Ranch families come to our Sugar Land office for autism evaluations that are scheduled quickly and explained clearly.

Planning the trip from Katy

Most Katy families take the Grand Parkway south toward Sugar Land, then US-59/I-69 or Highway 6 to Kensington Drive. Because evaluations are scheduled in longer blocks, the drive usually happens only once or twice for the testing itself.

Making the day easier for your child

Bring snacks, a favorite comfort item and anything that helps with waiting. If your child does best at a certain time of day, tell us when you schedule. Evaluators take breaks as needed and explain what comes next.

Signs Katy parents mention

  • A preschooler who lines up toys and rarely shares play
  • A child who melts down at transitions
  • A school-age child with intense interests and few friends
  • A teen girl who copes by copying others and is exhausted afterward

Questions from Katy families

Can follow-up therapy happen online?

Yes. All of our child and family therapists offer telehealth, which saves the drive.

Will the report help with our school district?

You can share the report with your child's school to support services and accommodations.

Is there a weekend option?

We schedule seven days a week. Ask about weekend testing availability when you call.

What if my child will not cooperate on the day?

That happens, and it is useful information too. Evaluators slow down, take breaks and, if needed, plan another short visit.

What the written report includes

Your report summarizes the questions you brought, the history you shared, the tests used and what the results mean. It explains whether autism fits and why, notes any related concerns such as anxiety or attention problems, and lists practical recommendations for school, therapy and home. Many families share it with their child's school, pediatrician, speech therapist or occupational therapist. Our evaluators walk you through the findings in the feedback session so you understand the report before you hand it to anyone else.
