Everybody, from time to time, can use the help of a therapist or coach. At Sugar Land Counseling, we have a variety of professionals available to help you, including a licensed psychologist, a licensed psychological associate/licensed professional counselor- intern, a life coach, and a business coach. Our team works with adults, adolescents, and children with a multitude of different issues. When you make your initial phone call, we will determine who will be the best fit for you.
Most of the people seen at Sugar Land Counseling are highly successful professionals (included in this group are stay-at-home parents, whom are considered to be both successful and professional). Most clients have never seen a therapist or coach prior to being seen at Sugar Land Counseling. If this will be your first time participating in counseling or coaching, don't worry, you will likely soon feel very comfortable.
In collaboration with you, your therapist or coach will try to generate solutions to your problems or issues. At times they may suggest implementing new behaviors, or they may teach you how to view a situation differently. At other times they may lend support and help you figure out how you want to proceed with your challenges. Although no promises are made, it is our experience that most of our clients report feeling more content and confident after participating in counseling or coaching.
Counseling or coaching is conducted with adults, adolescents, and children. Typically, meetings are scheduled once a week, but can be scheduled more or less frequently based upon your specific needs. Meetings typically last 50 minutes, 75 minutes, or an hour and 45 minutes.

Individual Counseling or coaching with adults, adolescents, and children addressing issues of anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship issues, weight and body image issues, parenting, ADHD, anger management and other behavioral issues
ADHD, dyslexia/learning disability evaluations, including those requested for standardized test accomodations (SAT, GRE, LSAT, etc.)

We will try to help you in your efforts to change your current situation. When applicable, we will try to teach you SPECIFIC techniques that have been shown to be effective.
In addition to learning specific techniques, most people find it tremendously helpful to have an objective person to discuss things with. A neutral professional outsider at Sugar Land Counseling can help you see things from a different perspective, and offer unique, non-judgmental views. We don't know you, so our advice to you will be unbiased. You might view yourself as a person in the middle of a crowd, while we might be the person standing above you and the others below from a balcony. We will try to offer you potential solutions to your problems and new ways of looking at things. Real changes are possible. You don't have to be "stuck" or feel trapped.
