Counseling for Anxiety
Anxiety disorders account for the most common mental illness in the United States, and affect 40 million adults in the U.S. age 18 and older (over 18% of U.S. population).
You might benefit from counseling services related to your anxiety if:
- You tend to worry excessively about family, work/school, money, or health.
- It is difficult for you to relax or get to sleep.
- There are things or situations you avoid due to your fears.
- It seems like certain things always seem to be on your mind.
Other symptoms of anxiety may include:
- difficulty controlling your worry
- irritability
- difficulty concentrating
- feeling fatigued
- feeling restless or 'on edge'
- panic attacks
These symptoms can be very upsetting and disruptive. If you suffer from anxiety, you have likely felt uncomfortable, helpless, or out of control at one point or another. Counseling, or getting help from a psychologist can help.
